Hike up Your Kilt for Saint Patrick's Day

It’s been a long time since San Francisco formed an Irish parade all its own. 166 years later this march is going strong, having long since forged ties with historic the city’s neighborhoods. This Annual Saint Patrick’s Day Parade, drawing huge crowds of spectators from different backgrounds and ethnicities, is a fantastic opportunity to learn more about Ireland’s history and unique culture. Hike up your kilt and join the crowd as they cheer on March 11th, starting at 11:30 am on the corner of Second and Market.

An entire day of activities comes to life at Civic Center Plaza as well as along Grove Street, between Polk and Larkin Streets. Before, during, and after the parade there will be a festival of live performances and musical entertainment, exhibitions of arts and crafts, rides and bounce houses for children, plenty of authentic food and drink, and non-profit booths to benefit San Francisco’s Irish community.
