A Labyrinth by the Bay

If you want to fit a little bit of outdoor activity into your vacation, we have the perfect suggestion: head over to Land’s End Park for a light hike and a generous helping of stunning vistas. Begin the hike at Lands End Lookout, just 25 minutes from our San Francisco hotel. From here, the Coastal Trail wanders through the woods and along the rocky shoreline, offering incredible views of the Golden Gate bridge, the Sutro Bath ruins, and a few shipwrecks in the Bay. Our favorite spot on this particular hike is the Labyrinth at Eagle’s Point, an installation of twisting paths carefully outlined with stones to create a spiral. Originally created by local artist Eduardo Aguilera in 2004, this installation has become a beloved part of the trail where you can take in a breathtaking panoramic view of the water. Our best piece of advice? Wait for a clear day for the best views. Whether you’d rather come early to avoid the crowds or hike later in the afternoon to catch the sunset is up to you.
